Bountiful resident Jordon Johnson is just one member of the lively cast starring in the Hale Center Theater presentation of "No Time for Sergeants a hilarious military play set in the early 1950s. Written by Ira Levin, and courtesy of Dramatist Play Service, this wonderful comedy is about a wide-eyed wide-eyed private from the backwood of Georgia, who confuses, rearranges and unnerves the entire U.S. Air Force. This Broadway hit was also a i memorable movie starring Andy Griffith. Some people believe that Gomer Pile, the down-home character in Andy Griffith's television tele-vision series was patterned after the private in this play. "No Time for Sergeants" has not been done in this area for a long time, probably because of the large number of excellent male actors needed and the extensive military costumes and sets required. John and Tamara Adams, co-directors co-directors of the show, wrote the following : 'As No Time for Sergeants' was being selected for the 1990-91 HCT season, the Mid-East Mid-East deserts were nothing more than stretches of sand. Now into that desert are sent our 'Daniels (and 'Danie lies') indeed into the lion's den. As they sit in the sand for hours... we will enjoy this play in ! ease. Let' s remember who has paid the price for our comfort and freedom. Our recreation is a generous 1 gift from those who've fought for our happiness and freedoms in previous conflagrations and those who now fight May we always remember re-member their sacrifice... We send love to the family of Bountiful 's Dion James Stephenson the first Utahn to lose his life in our present conflict. It is to him and his family that this show is dedicated." Here is the marvelous line-up of excellent actors double cast because of the extensive run-length: Will Stockdale, the ' 'Gomer Pile-ish' Pile-ish' private, is doubled with Mike Westenshow and Will Swenson. Mike Westenskow, who, in 'real life' coordinates convention services ser-vices at the new Salt Lake Clarion, is an experienced comedic actor. Most recently, he was the cop in "Heaven Can Wait," and Topper and the Undertaker in HCT's "A Christmas Carol.' Will Swenson, a senior at Cottonwood Cot-tonwood High School, first began acting in commercials as a small boy in California. He won first place in State for I Act last year and best supporting actor in the "Green Sheet" Awards the last two years. He was recently Tevye, in Cottonwood Cotton-wood High's "Fiddler on the Roof." Sgt King is being played by Ron Johnson and Steven Patrick Sater. This is Ron's third appearance at HCT.
