Show Clipper Homemakers School draws large, hungry crowd The big moment finally arrived, and the name of the winner of the microwave was removed from the freezer and announced. The winner, Eileen, joined Shannon, Clipper Publisher Gail Stahle, and Lake woods appliance manager Gary Langton on stage to accept the gift-Members gift-Members of the audience said they had "thoroughly enjoyed," themselves. Hundreds Hun-dreds of homemakers, and area cooks filed into Woods Cross High School Thursday to enjoy a fun-filled, fun-filled, informative evening. Before the show began, crowds visited the booths of many local business owners who were displaying display-ing their products. Visitors were treated to demonstrations, and samples of debcious foods. The school was kicked off at 6:40 p.m. in the auditorium where Barry Rishton, interior designer for Lakewoods Home Furnishings, narrated nar-rated a slide presentation discussing the how-to's of interior design. Hostess Shannon Peterson Edgel then took center stage to begin the Homemakers School. The crowd I watched and listened intently as ; Shannon prepared a variety of ! foods. These taste tempting treats ; were awarded as prizes at the end of j the show. Nearly 100 lucky participants went home with a prize including 40 bags of groceries donated by one of the show's co-sponsors Food-4-Less. Owners of these Bountiful Food-4-Less, Don and Jean Simpson, Simp-son, joined Clipper employees, editor Judy Jensen and marketing director John Rogers on stage to draw the names of the winners. During intermission, the crowd enjoyed a fashion show, "Color your Seasons with Fashions," presented by the Bountiful House of Fabrics. Manager Mickey Benich coordinated the show with the hop of her daughter Carla as narrator. A drawing was then made for the grand prize, a Samsung microwave oven donated by co-sponsor, Lakewoods Home Furnishings. 'Hie name of the grand prize winner was not announced until the end of the show, and was kept in the freezer on stage until that time. The evening culminated with the awarding of additional prizes. Cheers and laughter was heard from the audience as the names of the winners were announced. Prizes included in-cluded eight microwave cookbooks from Homemakers School, one Hersheys "Make It With Chocolate" cookbook, an "Over the Sink Cutting Board' from Chicago Cutlery, a one-year supply of vitamins from Sublingual Products, Pro-ducts, 15 one-year subscriptions to the Davis County Clipper, a variety of prizes from K-Tec, including "The Art of Breadmaking" videos, the remaining 20 bags of groceries from Food-4-Less, a cleaning kit from Cleaner World, cooking pans and knives from Bountiful Lumber and the food prizes from Homemakers School.
