Sept-22. i The 14 years and under, Amateur Softball Association Classics team is holding open tryouts for next year's team at the Steed Softball Complex on 300 N. next to Holt Elementary in Clearfield. The team is privately sponsored, travels extensively and competes in weekend tournaments throughout the summer. i Although competition will not begin until next June, the team will practice weekly throughout the offseason. off-season. According to coach Kent Boam, this is a competitive, fast pitch team. It is also the first year a 14 year and under team has been formed form-ed in the Davis County area. Girls 14 and under as of Sept. 1 are eligible to try out. Boam helped last year with the 16 and under Classics team which took third , in state and fifth in region, which features competition between Utah, Colorado and Wyoming.
