Show Educator retires ft'' - - v ' x r r X St x I r t I t After 31 years in education, E. Bowen Lewis, will pursue other interests in-terests as he retires from Davis County School District. An open house will be held in his honor at the Burton Elementary School, 827 E. 200 S., Kaysville, from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22. Friends, associates, and students are invited to attend. Lewis began his education career at Orem High School in 1959. He taught American and world history. He then became a teaching principal prin-cipal in Pingree, Idaho for one year. He came to Davis County in 1963, teaching sixth, grade for four years, and later serving as an elementary principal for 23 years. This includes seven different schools, but he spent more years at Burton than any other. He has administered a double session school, instituted computer literary programs, served on many committees, including career ladder and has seen education change quite drastically over the year. He is married to the former Maurine Bangerter. They are the parents of ten children. Lewis stated that his greatest joy BOWEN LEWIS has come in touching the lives of young people and from the dedication dedica-tion of great fellow workers. Lewis's guiding motto has been "the ultimate goal of achievement is success." He feels that working with many choice students, fellow workers, parents and friends of education edu-cation has been his greatest personal per-sonal satisfaction. |
