He is the son of Paul A. and Norma Jensen. His parents came to Bountiful in 1945 to take a job at Tingeys Cold Storage. Jensen was raised in this community com-munity and knows many residents through his father's employment. He was taught by his father at a young age to care for and take pride in the family automobile. He married the former Diane Evans, also of Bountiful. They have one daughter, Haline, age 15; and three sons, Brandon, 13; Jeremy, 11; and Aaron, 5. Dennis enjoys spending time with his family; taking care of his garden; camping and outdoor activities. He also likes to work with his computers in many areas, everything every-thing from games to genealogy. He is an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many leadership positions over the years. He was a member of the Bountiful Exchange Club, serving as its president presi-dent in 1982-83. "Our specialty is offering competent, com-petent, honest automotive service. We believe our customers should be treated with friendliness and respect. We make it a point to understand how important a person's per-son's vehicle is to his lifestyle and try wherever possible to provide quick, but thorough service. We also believe that the more our customers know about how their cars run, the better they will be able to make decisions about its cafe and upkeep,' said Jensen. According to Jensen the future plan of the Car-Tune Shop is to continue con-tinue to offer competent, effective " and honest automotive service to the communities in Davis County. r B OUNTIFUL--The Car-Tune Shop, located at 602 W. 800 S., offers general automotive repair and maintenance for most foreign and domestic vehicles. "Our technicians are trained and qualified to handle problems with the older model vehicles as well as the technologically new vehicles," said owner Dennis Jensen. Jensen discovered he had an interest in-terest in auto repair when he took a community education class with his father to leam how to take care of their cars. He changed his college major from accounting to automotive engineering en-gineering and spent the next four years obtaining his B.S. degree frin Weber State College with a minor in business management. The Car-Tune Shop actually came into being the year that the state required all studded snow tires be banned from use. Dennis developed de-veloped a tool that would remove the studs from the tires, thus allowing allow-ing a person to continue to use a perfectly good snow tire. He advertised and made $50 that winter. With that money he began to purchase the necessary tools to do other repairs. He opened the business in his father's garage while still going to school. It took two years to build enough clientele and bank account to build at his present location. The Car-Tune Shop opened its doors specializing in Volkswagen repair. Ten years later the business was "paid off' and expansion began to double its original size. "We offer state-of-the-art diagnostic diag-nostic computer based equipment which services charging systems, starting systems, ignition systems, fuel systems, on-board computers and the new electronic braking systems. We have access by way of computer to all current data offered by General Motors through Expertech, " explained Jensen. The company is a licensed State Inspection and Emission Test Station with the federally approved equipment to run the emission tests and certified technicians to test and make necessary repairs.
