Show 'Artists in Residence' at MPJH By REGINA HALE Student Reporter Mueller Park Junior High participated par-ticipated in the 'Artists in Residence"and "Very Special Arts" programs April 17 through 19. Salt Lake artist Larnie Fox worked with art and special ed. students on projects using repetition and negative space. Lamie Fox has visited many schools including elementaries, junior ju-nior highs and high schools. He en joys painting and sculpture. He does modem style art, and he likes to use a "moving" technique. Currently, he is also working on a special painting at Meadowbrook Elementary. It is a large painting of about 24 x 10 feet. The "Artist in Residence" program pro-gram also includes dancing, theater and writing. This is an excellent program which provides a great experience ex-perience for those involved. An average adult has only developed de-veloped his or her artistic ability to a third or fourth grade level. A main reason is because most people have not had an extensive learning experience expe-rience with different aspects of art such as painting, sculpture and crafts. Fox would like to change this. He is glad that some schools such as Mueller Park have good art programs pro-grams which do painting, sculpting and craftmaking. Students at Mueller Park were glad to have Fox come share his talents tal-ents at the school think the programs pro-grams are good ideas. |
