Which brought Commissioner Bill Peters to jokingly quip, "So allow yourself plenty of time and vote often." Seriously, voters are being asked to allow much more time to cast their ballots this year than in previous years. Voters are also urged to vote during the middle of the day rather than early morning or evening when the line is expected ex-pected to be much longer. Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. at various voting sites around the county. Voters not familiar with their voting site may call the Davis County Clerk's Office in Farmington. Voting can be done on either a ' ' straight ticket' ' by punching once on Page One which casts a vote for each candidate of that party or to "scratch" vote by punching next to each desired candidate's name. Voting for non-partisan candidates, can-didates, the initiatives and the proposals must be done separately. If you deface your ballot or make a mistake in voting, you must return re-turn your ballot card to the election judge and obtain another card (ballot), (bal-lot), it was explained. Davis County voters will also cast their ballots in support (or opposition) to nine judge appointments appoint-ments from juvenile court to the State Supreme Court. Three nonpartisan non-partisan races will be held locally for candidates to the Davis School District Board of Education and two in support of circuit court judges. The ballot will be rounded out with three initiatives and two proposed prop-osed amendments to the State Constitution. |
