She was born May 7, 1910 in Henifer, Utah, a daughter of Charles S. and Clara Ann Jones Toone. She married Owen Glen-dale Glen-dale Hughes, June 21, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away July 5, 1969. She was a member of the LDS Church, Bountiful 33rd Ward, serving as a Relief Society president, presi-dent, president of the MIA, and had served as a Sunday School teacher. She had served as secretary secret-ary of the North Summit High School, as secretary of the Utah State Extension Service, Salt Lake Hardware, and assistant clerk to the Davis County Commissioners. She was a past president of the South Davis Junior High PTA. Surviving are one son, three daughters; Mark Owen Hughes, Magna; Mrs. Blaine (Gwen) Law, Broken Arrow, Okla.; Mrs. Richard (Beth) Moran, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; Jane Hughes, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Louise Bell, Mesa, Ariz. MEDA JANE TOONE HUGHES Funeral services were held Oct. 15 at the Bountiful 33rd Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Bountiful City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary. |
