Show Creative winners at MJH listed Editor's note: This article was written by: Julie Adams, Heath Jones, and Lisa Cutler, who are members of the Communication Communi-cation Class at Millcreek Jr. High. Could you build a foundation from one 8'2xl 1 piece of paper and some glue that would support 41 xh pounds of weight? On Monday Oct. 3, the Industrial Indust-rial Arts students of MJH were given this problem to solve by Mr. Muna and Mr. James (Industrial Arts teachers). They had a half an hour to solve and complete this problem. The object was to see who could build the strongest foundation. The testing was done by placing weights on top of each foundation. The winners were chosen by the amount of weight their foundation could hold. The winners from first to fourth place are listed below: First: Mike Jones, Jason Statts and Blair Weed, holding 41 Vi lbs. Second, Mark Walton and Brad Van Uitert, holding 26'2lbs. Third: Nicole Defriez, Emily Cherdon and Shawn Mann, holding 25 Vi lbs. Fourth: Doug Hardily, David Nee-ly, Nee-ly, Colton Reading and John Shipp, holding 2VA lbs. MJH has a lot of creative students!! |
