Steven and Kay and their children, Scott, Tina, Stephanie Stepha-nie and Wendy, were excited to be chosen winners. Wins Liberty Quilt A handmade Liberty Quilt was won by the Steve Albertson family recently at Back to School night at Washington Elementary. The quilt, sewn and tied by LeAnn Wilson, was raffled as a fund-raiser for the Washington PTA, which raised about $200. "This was one of many projects we planned this year to help buy supplies for our school," said Washington PTA president Shirley Mayo. "We would really like to buy a copier for the teachers, since the district can't afford to supply . them with one." Steve and Kay Albertson have four children at Washington ; Scott, Tim, Stephanie and Wendy. The quilt depicted American scenes or emblems in a red, white and blue motif. Area businesses sponsored money or supplies for the quilt. The businesses are: Alden Higgs Carpets, Baskin Robbins, House of Fabrics, Minit Lube, Midas, Mr. C's, Mrs. Cavanaugh's, Rice and Strand, Taco Time, Tracy Collins Bank, Valley Bank and Trust, Video USA, Wicker 'n Whatnots and Zions Bank. |
