J MICHELLE SARGENT LESLIE AUGER REBECCA BRIMHALL Girls named 'outstanding' She has been a member of the National Honor Society and has taken many honors classes during her high school career. Rebecca Brimhall is also involved in-volved in many musical activities. She has been a member of the high school a'cappella choir for three years. This year she is a member of the Laytones. She is a member of "Galaxy", an award winning per- By DONETA GATHERUM CLAYTON Four outstanding Menage girls were honored by the Layton Chamber of Commerce as students of the month. The girls were invited to attend the monthly Chamber luncheon. They received certificates indicating their accomplishments accom-plishments and a special gift. Leslie Auger, the daughter of Charles and Susan Auger, and Rebecca Re-becca Brimhall, the daughter of gymnastics and swimming. She is a member of North Layton's girls volleyball and basketball teams, a member of the AAU 15 and under basketball team representing the Layton area for two years and she was voted Miss Hustle at the Weber We-ber State Basketball camp. She was invited to join Utah's Girls' . gymnastic team. Lora is a member of the Honor Society. She participated in beginning begin-ning and concert bands. She has studied piano privately for four years. torming group. Becky has a 3.5 GPA. She has taken many honors classes. For six years, she participated on a Layton AYSO all-star soccer team. She is currently an assistant coach for a 10-11 year old girls' soccer team. For two years she has participated with the Weber State College Soccer Club team. Michelle Sargent, a ninth grade student at Central Davis Junior High, has a 3.9 GPA. She is a member mem-ber of the National Honor Society, the Central Singers and the Central Davis usher squad. She is taking honors classes in English, geometry, geomet-ry, speech-drama and choral music. Michelle enjoys vocal and instrumental in-strumental music, especially the flute. Lora Peterson is a girl with a long-term goal in view. She wants to be a member of the Olympic basketball bas-ketball team. To help reach this goal , Lora has participated in many sports activities including basketball, basket-ball, volleyball, softball, soccer, Keith and Carolyn Brimhall, both represented Layton High School. North Layton Junior High's outstanding out-standing student was Lora Peterson, Peter-son, the daughter of Gary and Betty Bet-ty Peterson. Michelle Sargent, the daughter of John M. and Carolyn Sargent, was Central Davis Junior High's Chamber award recipient. Leslie, a senior at Layton High, is very active in musical groups. As a ninth grader at North Layton, she was a member of the Chamber Singers and was named the outstanding out-standing choral music student. She continued perfecting her musical talents at Layton High. Leslie was a member of Lady Lace and is currently cur-rently singing with the Laytones. She has studied piano for eight years. She accompanied the Lady Lace on the guitar. Leslie is serving as the FHA chapter president this year. She attended a leadership seminar this summer sponsored by the state organization. |
