Show Bain named director of community service Walter Bain, incumbent representative repre-sentative for Centerville and Farm-ington's Farm-ington's Utah's House of Representatives, Repre-sentatives, accepted the appointment appoint-ment of director of Community Service from the presidency of the Centerville-Farmington Rotary Club, Ed Hansen, president and Lyle Davis, past president. This directorship is a position for which he is well qualified. Rep. Bain has served on the Governor's Task Force for welfare reform and on the Farmington City Council and planning commission. He has also served with the American Cancer Society, United Way, Davis County Council on Aging, the Lions Club and Kiwanis Club. As community service director for the Centerville-Farmington Rotary Club, Rep. Bain will oversee over-see the activities of a number of committees that focus on serving senior citizens, Boy Scouts of America, the youth of the two communities, com-munities, and citizens of all ages by providing speakers for community organizations, and activities during dur-ing Centerville's Fourth of July celebration. He will also be responsible for bringing a sense of civic awareness, aware-ness, community problems and opportunities for service to his fellow fel-low Rotarians. As a professional pharmacist, Walt Bain owned and operated Farmington Drug for 25 years before be-fore selling to Smith's Food and Drug and becoming the manager of the Smith's pharmacy in Farming-ton. Farming-ton. Before graduating from the University of Utah, he filled an LDS mission to the Great Lakes area and served two years in the United States Army. He is married to the former Laurel Munson and they have five children. |
