Show Virgil M. Hohman LAYTON Virgil Max Hohman, Hoh-man, 66, of 962 Church St., died Monday, Aug. 29, 1988, at his home of cancer. He was born Jan. 3, 1922 in Dubois, Ida., a son of Max Edward and Cora Ellen Peterman Hohman. He married Hazel Christensen July 23, 1943. She died July 10, 1949. He married Marian Campbell. Camp-bell. They were later divorced. He married Jennie Norberg Dec. 31, 1956 in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Dubois High School and attended Idaho State College. He lived in Weber and Davis Counties. He was an aircraft mechanic foreman for Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1977 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement years traveling and living in his motor home. His hobby was restoring and showing antique cars. He was a member of the LDS Church. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps ferrying fer-rying new aircraft to all the different diffe-rent theaters of war. Surviving are his widow of Layton, two sons and four daughters, daugh-ters, Max Edward Hohman and Mrs. Scott (Kris) Neville, both of Ogden; Mrs. Randal (Deanna) Child, Kanesville; Daniel Lee Hohman Sr., Mammoth Lakes, Calif.; Mrs. Doug (Laurie) Justen-sen, Justen-sen, Syracuse; Mrs. Ralph (Julie) Gold, Salt Lake City; one stepson he reared from infancy, Mark Norberg Nor-berg Josephson, Kaysville; 27 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Robert Hohman, Layton; Frank Hohman, Vallejo, Calif.; Mrs. Lloyd (Louise) Stephenson, Citrus Heights, Calif.; Mrs. Floyd (Gladys) Hens-ley, Hens-ley, Idaho Falls, Ida.; He was preceded in death by one VIRGIL MAX HOHMAN son. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Layton Mortuary. Don Nelson presided at funeral services conducted by John Waite on Sept. 1. Family prayer was offered by Robert Hohman; prelude, Jolean Waite; "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions" by George Bringhurst; invocation, Scott Neville; remarks, John Waite; "O My Father" by George Bringhurst; speaker, Val Helquist; "Always", "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You" by George Bringhurst and Dean Norberg; benediction, Douglas Justensen. Dedication of the grave was by Jaron Norbert with interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Hohman, Hoh-man, Daniel Hohman, Mark Josephson, Randal Child, Scott Neville, Douglas Justensen, Ralph Gold and Roger Child. Honorary pallbearers were Floyd Hensley, Frank Hohman, Robert Hohman and Lloyd Stephenson. |
