Not present for picture were Aaron and Ammon Jones and Mark Jolley. 73 Cougars win Sparta soccer met a tough team and also a special challenge five of the Cougars were unable to play with injuries and related problems. The remaining remain-ing team never missed a beat though as they beat the Riots again 3-1. Marcus scored twice for the Cougars and Aaron Jones once and the Cougars took first place and were presented with championship trophies after the game. The Cougars '73 AAA soccer team ended their second place jinx last weekend by taking first place at the Sparta Invitational tournament tourna-ment held in Salt Lake City. Saturday morning was quite a tough game when the Cougars met Riot from New Mexico. The Cougars won though 3-2 with goals by Corby Egan and two by Nick Berry. In the afternoon they met the Scorpions, a team they easily beat 6-0. Aaron Jones, Corby Egan, Jamie Coombs with two goals, Nick Berry and Travis Hogge Hog-ge all scored for the Cougars. Saturday morning's game was with Avalanche from Salt Lake City. Nick Berry scored twice and Nathan Morris once in a 3-1 win for die Cougars. All that was left was the championship game where they |
