Games were played and sandwiches, potato I chips, salad, cake, cocoa and i candy were served, after which Dorothy took them to the show. CONNIE THOMPSON TO MARRY GALE MOWER By Dorothy Vestal Connie Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson Thomp-son of Milford, will marry Gale Mower, Roosevelt, Utah, June 5th, 1952. A large wedding is being planned but the place for the honeymoon is still undecided. unde-cided. When asked where they were going to live after they were married, her answer was, "Wherever Gale is riding, which will be mostly in Arizona." Gale is a race horse jockey, and has ridden for six years. "Yes, we are going on a honeymoon hon-eymoon but the place it will be is undecided as yet. It will probably prob-ably be a place where we can swim," was the answer Connie gave. I Connie said that she is going to have a reception and shower, I but it is too early to know when it will be held, and how many people will be coming, to them. It might possibly be held in the L. D. S. Church. lisic Department Plans Christmas Concert""" SHOWER GIVEN FOR FUTURE BRIDE By Bonnie Lund A personal bridal shower was held in honor of Dorothy Fisher, Fish-er, future bride of Cpl. Farrell Fotheringham and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vance Fisher. The shower was given by Mrs. Vera Price and Mrs. Bonnie Myers at the Bob Tomsikjresidence. Many lovely gifts were received by the bride-to-be. ! During the course of the evening eve-ning cootie was played by the following guests for entertainment: entertain-ment: Rowena Thompson, Lois Jean Fowles, Bonnie Munk, Bonnie Lund, Marlys Gillins, Jo Ann Barnes, Pat Kesler, Norma Reese, Angie Waddoups, Karen Archer, Glenda Fowles, Jonelle Baxter, Shirleen Lyman, Jeanette Stoker, Nancy Hill-man, Hill-man, Connie Thompson, Vanda O'Leary, Zelda Merryweather, Afton Hollis, and Barbara Thompson. Angie Waddoups received high prize and Barbara Bar-bara Thompson received low prize, after which a very nice I lunch of chili and crackers was served. The couple plan to be married mar-ried Dec. 15, the night of their reception. After that, they will iourney to California for their honeymoon. ! COLTS DEFEAT TIGERS By Clark Wright The Milford Tigers traveled to Cedar City Wednesday, Dec. 5, to play a basketball game with the Colts in the B A C Field House.. The Tigers were defeated 40 to 19. One of their opponents was Clyde Turner, a former Milford High student Bob Crane, also a graduate of MHS, plays for the Broncos. TIGERS DEFEAT DRAGON By Jo Ann Bishop Saturday ,Dec. 8th, the Milford Mil-ford Tigers defeated the Tropic Dragons in the Milford gym in a very exciting game, with Jack Bockwoldt and Dick Fisher high pointers. The score was 60 to 42. He: "Oh, please." She- "No." He- "Oh, please just once. she- "Absolutely not." He "Oh mother, other little boys 'stay out till 9:00." Abbott ha-been ha-been appointed to serve as a member of the National School Public Relations Committee. The reason for this associate associa-te nis, in the first place to work with teachers to improve teaching teach-ing and to make better relations between the teachers, students and parents. The other purpose is to work with the public and to let them know what the schools arc trying to do and how they are tryin gto do it. The committee works to try to get the parents to visit the schools and find out what is going on and make suggestions as to how the schools can be improved. At the present time, as part of the public relations work, the faculty of the Milford High school are studying and discussing the latest public relations re-lations handbook, "It Starts In the Classroom." The National School Public Relations Committee is a division divi-sion of the National School Association. As-sociation. They maintain a branch in each state as a part of the State Department of Education. |
