Show Car Thief Captured Here Two alert Milford youths, Kim Mortenson and DeLayne Johnson, were responsible Saturday Sat-urday night for the capture of a car thief by Night Marshal Wallace Fotheringham. Irvin Gerald Williams, 18, of Salt Lake City, stole an automobile auto-mobile in the Capital City and started for San Diego, Cal. En "out ehe stopped off in Milford, ! and meeting young Mortenson, whom he had known casually i in Silt Lake several years be-J fore, took Mortenson and Johnson John-son for a ride in his "new car." The Salt Lake youth aroused suspicion when he displayed a small pistol, offered to sell auto tires at less than half their value, and seemed totally unconcerned un-concerned about his treatment of the car. When he let the boys out and drove toward Beaver "to pull a job over there and go on to San Diego," the boys notified Marshal Fothr-eringham. Fothr-eringham. ...... The officer advised the Beaver Beav-er State Patrolman, and drove out the road east. Young Williams Wil-liams was asleep in the car near the experiment farm, and Marshal Fotheringham arrested him for investigation. Working with Deputy Sheriff L. G. Clay, the officers learned the car belonged to an employe of an oil firm, and held the young thief loi Salt Lake authorities. au-thorities. . |
