Show CONGRESSMEN TO ASK NEVADA MINERS TO DISCUSS LEGISLATION Congressman Walter Baring of Nevada and Clair Engle of California will fly west for a meeting at Ely, Nov. 2, to discuss dis-cuss mining problems and mine aid legislation. Mining men and community leaders from thruout Nevada and .nearby areas are invited' and urged to attend, and interested persons are expected from nearly every county. Arrangements for the meeting meet-ing are being made by the White Pine Chamber of Commerce Com-merce and Mines at Rep. Baring's Bar-ing's request. A delegation will meet the two congressmen in Salt Lake on Nov. 1 and escort them to Ely. They will remain there overnight and attend at-tend the meeting at 1:30 the next day. in the Hotel Nevada, after which they will return to Salt Lake to attend hearings --' there. The purpose of the meeting at Ely is to bring together mining min-ing men for agreement on the problems that face the industry. Information gathered will be used in Congress next January to pry the mine incentive bill loose from the House rules committee com-mittee which recently blocked its enactment. Business men and union leaders, lead-ers, as well as miners, are IK urged to attend the Ely meeting tf described as "another battle in continuing efforts to bolster small mining operations in the west." |
