Dave dropped the buck with a snap shot when he had the animal still for an. instant while other archers were shooting. Bill Tribole was. the first successful suc-cessful hunter in the Milford area to check his buck in at the Minersville locker plant. Bill knocked down a four-pointer near the pole line north of Bearskin, and turned it over to Horace Carter about 10 a. m. Saturday. The deer are much fatter and in better condition than last year .judging by the ones being be-ing checked in at the locker plant for processing. They are smaller than the 1948 kill, however. how-ever. At noon Thursday, the kill was about the same as last year, with more than 100 having been turned over to Mr. Carter for processing. BEST WISHES Did you ever pass along the receiving line at a wedding reception re-ception and wonder just how to express your best wishes to the .. bridal couple in words just a J little different than the folks ahead of you have used? There is no need to worry. According to the Lecenter Leader: "At a wedding reception a friend of the groom decided to find out whether anyone in the receiving line knew what the hundreds of people filing past were saying. As he moved along, he purred: "My grandmother grand-mother died today." "How nice!" "Thank you so much!" 'Ho'w sweet of you to say so!" were the responses to his announcement. "No one had the slightest idea what he said, least of all the groom, who exclaimed jovially: "It's about time you took the same step, old man!" Blue Earth Co. (Minn.) Enterprise. |
