Show imiki Mapleton City, through the efforts of the recreational department, de-partment, Wave Miguel, chairman, chair-man, will sponsor the 9th annual an-nual Maple Mountain hike. Weather Dermittinsr, the hike will begin Saturday morning, October 5 at 8 a.m., from the top of Maple Canyon. Prizes will be given this year to the lucky badge numbers drawn. These badges will be given and prizes awarded those who reach the Monument Peak top which is beyond the lake area on the trail. The top most peak is 10,192 feet. The names will be drawn about 11 a.m. The scenery along the trail is described as exquisite, particularly par-ticularly at this time of the year when fall colors of every hue are visible. The over-all hike is 5 miles to the top and those participating participat-ing should take their lunch and water, officials pointed out. Each year brings added interest in-terest to the mountain climb and many enjoy the event. |
