Show Groups sponsor seminar on national safety Provo City Corporation Uhk . County, Provo Chamber Tf ' Commerce and BYU will j together to co-sponsor Z - 1968-69 National Security Sem -inar in Provo, according to b E. (Bye) Jensen, Provo general chairman. The four organizations will - co-sponsor the Provo seminar ' one of seven scheduled in the ' United States in the comtof year. The Oct. 14-25 semfci will be conducted by the Ind& trial College of the Armed ' Forces. f The purpose of the Seminar ' is to help educate reserve mil. ' itary officers and interest ' civilians in the management of ' 1 national security resources and j in factors bearing on the na- I ' tion's survival. ! ' Mr. Jensen said, "With all ' the questions that people have 4 about the war in Vietnam and the role of Russia and Red China, they will find the semi. J nar to be an information-pack-ed briefing of facts our tiU- :" zens should know about the " present state of our national ' security. It points to the na- L tional and international prob- f lems facing this country; social and military aspects of national , security. All are brought into focus as areas of study during ' the Seminar." I The program is designed to increase the general understanding under-standing of America's position in the world today, including j the great questions of world communism, foreign policy, foreign for-eign aid, public opinion, civil defense, the population explosion explo-sion and economic development , A total of 32 colorful Illustrated Ill-ustrated lectures and 17 up-to-date short films are included in the seminar.
