Davis The family of Mr. and Mrs. ""L. W. Davis, will honor their ' parents at an open house in celebration of their golden wedding wed-ding anniversary, Sunday, April Ap-ril 16,' from 2 until 5 p.m., at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Waldo and Marian Jacobsen, 561 East Aaron Ave. All relatives and friends are invited to call on the guests of honor. They request no gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Davis, residing at 234 East Third South, were married April 16, 1917, in Pro-vo Pro-vo and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Davis was born at Iron-ton, Iron-ton, Juab County, Feb. 22, 1895, a son of Joseph and Susannah Su-sannah Davis. He was employed at Geneva Steel 25 years before his retirement. He has been active ac-tive in LDS Church work and is presently .a high priest in the Fifth Ward. Mrs. Davis, formerly Alice Thorpe, was born in Springville, Sept. 15, 1896, a daughter of Levi and Mary Ruth Thorpe. She has served on the Relief Society stake board, in the presidency in the First Ward and Relief Society president in the Fifth Ward. She has also been a visiting teacher in Relief Re-lief Society and has worked in most other auxiliary organizations organiza-tions of the church. They are parents of five daughters, four of whom are living as follows; Mrs. Wood-row Wood-row (Veryl) Thompson of Pro-vo; Pro-vo; Mrs. LaMar (Evelyn) Mason, Ma-son, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clyde (Ranae) Stone, Bell-flower, Bell-flower, Calif., and Mrs. Waldo (Marian) Jacobsen, Springville. There are 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Most of their family including includ-ing the daughters and sons-in-law plan to be on hand for the golden wedding. |
