Show Commission sets turkey hunt, license policy Utah's five man Fish and Game Commission at their April Ap-ril 5 meeting, elected a new commission chairman, welcomed welcom-ed a new commisioner, approved approv-ed a spring turkey hunt, and gave the Department a policy on those persons who would be eligible to purchase the new 50 cent permanent fishing license. li-cense. Utah's first spring turkey hunt will be held April 22 through May 7 and will be one male bird only. The special $3 turkey permit per-mit will allow hunters to pursue pur-sue torn turkeys in any of the open areas with shotguns being the only legal weapons. The areas open will be Iron, Washington, Kane, Garfield, Sevier and Wayne Counties along with portions of Grand and San Juan Counties. Applications will be accepted accept-ed either by mail or in person at the Fish and Game offices in Price or Cedar City after April Ap-ril 15 and must contain the full name, address, 1967 hunting license li-cense number, and check or money order from the applicant. appli-cant. The recent Utah State Legislature Legis-lature established a new fishing fish-ing license which would be issued is-sued as a permanent license for 50 cents to those persons who are blind, paraplegic, or otherwise other-wise permanently disabled. Since this is a lifetime license, li-cense, the commission provided for an affidavit to be completed complet-ed by a physician that the person per-son purchasing this license be so far disabled that he cannot earn wages or profit in some occupation or gainful pursuit. He must be afflicted with a disability dis-ability which permanently impairs im-pairs his capacity to carry on continuously some occupation or gainful pursuit, and such impairment must be reason-lifetime, reason-lifetime, -cioefn ....neUu i gali ably certain to continue during his lifetime. All persons who are blind or paraplegic are included in-cluded within those considered permanently and totally disabled. |
