Show Local couple wins trip at Jaycee meet Springville Jaycees and the Wives organizations were well represented at the state convention con-vention at Richfield the past week, with eight couples, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Holley, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Tay-lor Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jeffers, Mr and Mrs. Melvin Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Howell and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Blanchard attending. Grant S. Thorn of Springville, Spring-ville, who served as state president pres-ident of the Jaycees and also national vice president, was the speaker at the presidents' prayer meeting Sunday morning. morn-ing. The Springville club had the honor of raising the biggest, most beautiful rooster which weighed in at 10 pounds. It was. raised from a baby chick by the retiring president, Bob Jensen during his year of service ser-vice and he is to be given a 3-day trip to Las Vegas, as a prize for raising the biggest Jaycee rooster. |
