Burial here Monday for Blanch Strong Funeral services were held Monday in Salt Lake City, for Mrs. Blanch Harmer Strong, 64, former Springville resident! who died Thursday, October 28, 1965, in a Salt Lake hosmtal' after a long illness. She was the wife of Marvin H. Strong, also a former Springville resident, who conducted con-ducted a Salt Lake City band and taught music in high school, many years. Mrs. Strong was prominent in floriculture organizations in Salt Lake City and had won many trophies. She served as president of the state African Violet Society and was a member mem-ber of the Chrysanthemum Club and the Designers Club. She was a member of East Mill Creek LDS Ward. Born in Springville Dec. 31 1900, she was a daughter of Elias and Addie Erdman Harmer. Har-mer. She attended schools in Springville, where she spent her early life. She was married to Mr. Strong, June 30, 1920, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Surviving besides her husband, hus-band, is a daughter, Miss Joyce Strong, Salt Lake City; and her mother, who moved from Springville to Salt Lake City recently. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. |
