Show 4-H achievement program set The Extension Service staff wishes to invite all people in each community who are interested in-terested in 4-H to be in attendance. at-tendance. This is also an invitation in-vitation for anyone who is interested in-terested in investigating the 4-H program to be in attendance attend-ance and see what awards are given and who is participating in these programs. 4-H Achievement Night for Springville-Mapleton clubs will be held on Wednesday, November Novem-ber 10, at the Springville Junior Jun-ior High School at 7:00 p.m. according to Mrs. Leonard Harward, Mrs. Wayne Cutler and Mrs. Duane Rowberry, community supervisors. Achievement Night activities are for all 4-H boys and girls in the area and parents and friends of 4-H. The purpose of Achievement Night is for boys and girls to receive the awards for which they have qualified the past season. Fine awards A five dollar savings account award will be given by the First Security Bank to some 4-H'er in the first, second or third year of 4-H for outstanding outstand-ing work for this year. The Utah County Commission provides pro-vides awards for all boys and girls who have completed a project during the past season. This season these completion awards take on a new form and those receiving them will receive first, second and third year pins. Fourth year pins have been provided for many years by the Utah Banker's Association of the state. In addition to these awards and for those past the fourth year, members will receive special awards such as: necklaces, tie chains, tie tacks scissors, belts, paperweights or plaques. For older boys and girls, those who have entered state and national contests there are also county medals and in rare cases, state medals. A special invitation to attend at-tend this achievement night has been given to the County Commissioners. It is hoped they will be able to attend and assist in presenting the awards. |
