Show Equipment donated to aid firemen CEDAR CITY - A three stage air compressor com-pressor recently donated to the Cedar City Fire Department by Cedar City Products will greatly improve the fire ( department's , capabilities. According to Dave' Bentley, fire chief, the new air compressor will allow a fireman an extra five to seven minutes worth of air time when fighting a fire. "With the old equipment equip-ment we could only carry 1500-1700 pounds of air, but with this new equipment the fireman will go in with 2250 pounds," said Bentley. He added that five to seven minutes doesn't sound like a lot of time, but it could make the world of difference when fighting a fire. "This piece of equipment equip-ment was desparately needed. Before receiving it I could not train the men properly in this area, for a number of reasons including the high expense," said Bentley. He added that now his men will go into situations better prepared and informed on how to properly use the equipment. |
