Show Cedar vs. Payson CEDAR CITY - After a disappointing loss to Spanish Fork last week the Cedar Redmen will attempt to come back and win tomorrow's game against Payson. Payson will host the Redmen in their homecoming game and will supply some ex- cellent talent. Payson has an excellent fullback who uses his large size to great advantage. Also on the Payson lineup are two very fast wide receivers who took first and second place last year in the region 100-yard dash. The Redmen will be trying hard to upset Payson and return home with their first region win. The Redmen have yet to play at their best according to coach Dave Jenson. " If we can play good solid fundamentals we can start winning," he said. The Redmen will once again need to get up to their potential and find the intensity to win. Cedar City will have to rely on its defense once again. Last week the Redmen put on some good defensive displays, and they'll need to repeat that to stop Payson. The Redmen secondary will be hard pressed in trying to maintain the speedsters speed-sters in the Payson receiving squad. Offensively the Red-men Red-men will , have to get their spark from their running backs. If backs Ben Whitney and Troy Nielsen can fire up then they should run rampant against the Payson defense. To do this they'll need to maintain their intensity and rely on blocks from their front line friends In any event the Cedar Redmen will enter tomorrow night's game as a spoiler. And they'll need a victory to carry them into their own homecoming battle against Dixie next week. |
