'.'if ". j ( A Carol Hanks speaks at commencement Cindy Adams awaits her diploma Area high school graduates take part in commencement CEDAR CITY - The future, the past, dreams and challenges were all part of commencement exercises throughout southern Utah last week as Cedar, Parowan and Enterprise seniors remembered their high school years and looked forward to bright futures. Commencement activities ac-tivities were conducted in Cedar and Enterprise on May 27 and in Parowan on May 28. At CHS the theme was a quote from Emerson, "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not." The graduates, 179, listened as classmates spoke of the years in high school and challenged each other to make a bright future for themselves. them-selves. The presentation of the graduation was taken care of by Principal Vernile Matheson, Superintendent J. Clair Morris and Iron County School Board member John Taylor. Taylor awarded the diplomas. At PHS 35 graduating seniors listened as their classmates d discussed "The Best of Times." Speakers were Kelly Orton, Janet Evans, Mitchell Pendleton, Carol Hanks, Lori Robinson and Raquel Rowley. Principal Leon G. Hollingshead presented the graduates, and School Board member Stephen Adams presented the long-awaited diplomas. In Enterprise there were 18 graduates, who listened to various honor students speak and sing before the diplomas were handed out. The graduates were presented by Principal Rob Goulding, and the diplomas were handed out by Superintendent Jack Burr. |
