Show mtwmm imiim rial ' imU'i ii'.iiiimiiiMniw Ward and Itha Mortensen Couple to note 'golden9 years PAROWAN - Ward and Itha Mortensen will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. with an open house. The event is being given by the couple's family at the home of Mel Jones, 247 N. 100 East. All family members and friends are invited. The couple has requested no gifts. The Mortensens have two children: Mrs. Mel (Janet) Jones and the late Ron Mortensen. Joan Mortensen is their daughter-in-law. They also have six grandchildren grand-children and four greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Mor- tensen were both born in Parowan and have lived there all their lives except ex-cept for about six months when they moved to Pioche, Nev., to find employment. Mrs. Mortensen is an active member of the LDS Church and has held many positions throughout her life, in-cludng in-cludng Relief Society president. Her big love is music, and she still gives her time in musical capacities to church and community. Mr. Mortensen has been a building contractor, con-tractor, doing work throughout southern Utah for many years. He has recently retired. |
