Show Enochmayor resigns post ENOCH - In an evening meeting full of various items but very few surprises the Enoch Town Board accepted the resignation of Mayor Justin Gray Apr. 1. The resignation will be affective Apr. 15, said Gray, who also noted that the resignation was brought about because of "personal reasons." The Board will probably attempt to fill the vacancy at its regular meeting Wednesday evening, appointing someone to act as mayor until the end of the year, ' at which point Gray's term would have expired. In an otherwise quiet night, the Board took action on several "routine" items. The Board accepted the bid of Grimshaw and Anderson to do all the town's accounting work at a price of $25 per hour. Board Member Worth Grimshaw did not take part in the discussion or vote on the motion because of a conflict of interest. He is a member of the accounting firm, but will not be able to actually do the work for the Town. Joe Gubler and Associates and Kenneth Darby also submitted bids. The Board also approved ap-proved a motion to have all paid personnel responsible to City Manager John Gaily. "It was simply a matter that they didn't know who to report to," said Grimshaw in discussing the action. He noted that problems had not really occured yet, but that the action was taken in an attempt to coordinate work and to avoid problems. "We're just trying to settle problems before they occur." The Board also terminated ter-minated the employment of City Building Inspector DeVon Jones and decided to work out a contract with Iron County to have County Building Inspector In-spector Vic Middleton coordinate the work. The action was taken, said Grimshaw, in an attempt to save money and avoid duplication of efforts. |
