Show If you don't have all your entries ready for the 2979 Beaver County Fair, you'd letter get at it. Only a few days remain before the entry deadline. The Fair will officially begin August 9-10 and 11th, and will be held for the first time in the new Beaver County Fair Build-i Build-i ing, near Minersville. Entries in all departments, depart-ments, except flowers and Produce, will be accepted from Noon to 9:00 P.m. on Tuesday, August 7th, and Wednesday, August 8th. Entries En-tries in these departments after that time will be for display only, only. Entries in the Flower and Produce Departments will be accepted Thursday, August Aug-ust 9th, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Judging will be completed Thursday morning. morn-ing. Exhibits will be open to the public each morning at 9:00 a.m. There is no admission charge. All exhibits must remain in their departments until 4 p.m. Saturday. Anyone who needs a way to get their exhibits to the Fairgrounds may call either Sally Rose, Milford, or Mabel Smith, in Beaver. Arrangements Ar-rangements will be made to help deliver and pick up your entries. Thursday, the first day of the fair, is packed full of action and entertainment. A challenge race, featuring teenage teams from all over the county will compete. At 4:30 p.m. a parade full of floats, fair royalty and clowns will move down Mi -nersville's Main Street. A delicious barbequed beef dinner will follow at 5:30 in the Minersville Cultural Hall. The highlight of the day will be the Queen Contest, at 7:30 p.m., also in the Cultural Hall, where a lucky contestant will be crowned Miss Beaver County Fair, and will also receive the title of Beaver County's Dairy Princess. Contestants are Nanette Smith and Chris Barton, of Beaver, and Ja-nette Ja-nette Hollingshead, of Minersville. Mi-nersville. Friday, August 10th, is Senior Citizen's Day. Activities Ac-tivities include a Marathon Race; Senior Citizen's Program Pro-gram from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Children's Talent Show from 4:00 to 5:00, followed by an Adult Talent Show, both held in the Cultural Hall. Winners of the children's talent show will also compete in the show later in the evening, and winners win-ners will be chosen in Children's , Jr. and Adult Divisions. Topping off the evening will be an outdoor dance in the tennis courts at Minersville Mi-nersville School. Saturday, August 11th is Children's Day. Fair exhibits ex-hibits will be open as usual. A Pet Parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Minersville School Grounds; from 2 to 3:30 p.m. games and races will be held, with prizes for all. At 3:30 p.m. a picture show and cartoons will be the bill of fare. At 5:00 the Horse Show will be held in the new Rodeo Arena at the Fairgrounds, followed at 6:00 by the professional pro-fessional Rodeo, produced by Rocking R Rodeo Co. Admission Ad-mission for this event only, will be $2.00 for adults, $1.00 for children. As you can see the fair has activities and events for everyone. Plus the wonder-fuld wonder-fuld display of home crafts, paintings, garden produce, flowers, 4-H displays, antiques, an-tiques, photography and more.
