Show DRILLING SOUTH OF ST, GEORGE A deep exploratory oil and gas test well will be drilled in the St. George area, about 12 miles south of the city, by an oil and gas drilling company based in Hurricane, Utah, notes Carlton Stowe, spokesman for the Utah Department De-partment of Natural Resources. Re-sources. Murel Goodell, Hurricane, has scheduled a 12,400 foot test in the extreme northern test in the extreme northwestern north-western area of Arizona, in Mohave County. It is just south of the Utah state line and about four miles east of the Nevada state line. Goodell's well is the No. 2 Goodell-Basin-State. There has been no previous drilling to a comparable depth in the general vicinity vicin-ity of eitherArizonaorUtah. The test well site is nearly near-ly 50 miles west -southwest of the Virgin field in Washington Wash-ington County. The operator oper-ator also indicates a shallow shal-low test well, the No. 1 Goodell-Basin-State, projected pro-jected to about 1,085 feet will be drilled. |
