President Marion Walker, and park committee chairman chair-man Jay Gustaveson said the Historical Society members will be at the park on Friday afternoon and Saturday, to plant shrubs, and grass and will appreciate any help from civic minded Individuals. Bring hoes, shovels, rakes and a helping hand. The club members are few and the park project is a community project that deserves community com-munity support. Great progress has been V"' made in the last couple of years and the park is becom -ing a fine addition to the com - m unity. Gustaveson reports that the trees and shrubs that were planted last year came through the winter in fine condition, except for the few that were broken off by youngsters tubing on the hill. The organization plans to replace those trees this year and to seed grass in several areas now taken over by weeds. Wally Fotheringham promises pro-mises to get a vertical mine shaft replica constructed this year and a number of other projects are planned. Organizations and individuals indivi-duals are urged to adopt a section of the park and com -plete it. Donations of $500 or more entitle you to have your name, or that of a loved one placed in the park in memoriam. The sprinkling system was completed last year, and should do a good job of coverage this year, eliminating elimina-ting a lot of hand watering which has been necessary in the past. All help will be appreciated, appreci-ated, and no one will bejurn -ed away, regardlessf age. There is something for everybody to do. |
