Show Station is important to floriculture so letters should be written immediately to be effective. Word received from our congressional delegation is that NOAA has informed them there is no need to keep the station open, and that the operators want to move anyway. This is not so, and the cost of operation is so small that there is ample justification justi-fication to keep it open, just for the local service it provides. The Milford Weatherstation Weathersta-tion is a vital link in the Beaver County agriculture picture. Local farmers can get up to the minute for-casts, for-casts, and weather information infor-mation by calling the station during regular office hours. The station which is proposed pro-posed to be closed down October 1st, provides local information that cannot be received anywhere else. Salt Lake forcasts are rarely, rare-ly, if ever, of any value to Southern Utah. Much has been said of the value of the local station, sta-tion, both private and com -mercial. And of course, much emotion can be raised over the loss of payroll, and a Milford family. The Mal-chus Mal-chus family is an asset to the community. However, the National Oceanographic and Atmosphere Atmos-phere Administration (NOAA) seems intent, upon closing the station, and if this is to be reversed, it will be necessary to show that the station performs a vital service to the local area. To do this, farmers and persons involved in aviation and local citizens should write to their congressional delegation and show just how important the weather station sta-tion is to the local area.
