Show Hags gallop at Ely on Memorial Day Spring horse racing at it's best is being staged on the Memorial Day Weekend in Ely, Nevada. A fine selection selec-tion ofthorobred, quarter and Arabian horses will be assembled as-sembled in Ely on May 28, 29, 30, 1977, to provide horse racing fans with an exciting excit-ing weekend. By popular demand Pony Express Inc. has extended it's highly successful fall race meet, Pony Express Days to an early spring m eet. And to this end horse owners from Utah, Idaho, California, Califor-nia, Arizona and Nevada have responded by reserving stalls for over 200 horses for the forthcoming "Spring Run." A good field of 3 year olds have been nominated for the inaugural Spring Run Derby. This certainly won't be another Kentucky Derby, . but excitement generated by this race will be as high as that found at Churchill Downs. Beside in all like lihood, these entries are owned by your friends and neightbors, which will generate gen-erate a personal interest to the race. The inaugural Spring Run futurity will feature fea-ture two-year old colts that could be future Kentucky Derby winners. There will be up to 12 races run each day and, of course, there will be pari-mutual pari-mutual betting on each race. The "dally double" will be featured each day as well as the popular quenella wagering on most races. . For the time of your life, plan on visiting Ely, Nevada the friendliest place in the west for the Memorial Day .
