Alden Hardy returned them home so they could spend Mother's Day here. Bruce Williams visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Williams recently. Just got a news flash from Beth Edwards . She and Har -old are grandparents of a 6 lb. 12 oz. baby girl named Mary, born May 9th to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Weston of Murray. Mary joins three brothers and two sisters at home. Congratulations also go to Mr. andMrs. Kent Anderson, who became great -grandparents May 1st, just a year to the day that Faure's mother passed away. The proud grandparents are Orson and Yvonne Anderson of Granger, and the parents are Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, also of Granger. The baby, Garett Kent, was named for both great-grandfathers. The Kent Andersons also went to dinner din-ner at Hughes Cafe in Cedar C ity, which is owned by their children, Loretta and Robert Brown. Earl Thompson's birthday on April 30th was cause for celebration and dinner at the Hong Kong Cafe, even though Earl wont admit how young he is. Attending were: his wife, Essie, son, Leland , and friend, Steve, of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Blackburn of Minersville, the Hughie Blackburn family of Beaver, son, Val and Dorothy Thompson of Tooele, Vera and Ben Cooper, and son, Ward and Faye Thompson. Mothers Day brought many families together. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Banks hadMr. and Mrs. Gerald Alger and children chil-dren of Cedar and Delores Cartright and son, Cade, of R ichf ield, over for dinner and a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Myers enjoyed the company ofMer-rill ofMer-rill and Mary Staheli and children, of Logandale, Nev., Christine and Boyd Applegate and their familyfrom River-ton, River-ton, Roger and Janice Myers of Granger with their children chil-dren and the Neil Bradshaws, who all had a Mothers Day dinner at the Myers' home. Hughes Floral received some much -neededhelp from Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pettey's daughter, Leanne Stanfill, and neice Lou Ree McGill, both of Salt Lake, who came down for a few days to help with the Mothers Day rush and, of course, visit with the Petteys. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Holland Hol-land spent the weekend in Kaysville with daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hank Hance , and their children, chil-dren, Tami and Brandi. The Lovell Cranes and Ross Pattersons had dinner in Salina on Sunday and also decorated some graves while there. Ever been to Silver Reef m ining town? Last week Bud and Gladys Whittaker took brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Nay, of Hunter, Hunt-er, on a tour of southern Utah and eastern Nevada. They especially enjoyed the beautiful homes in the canyon, can-yon, plus the Jacob Hamlin and Brigham Young Winter homes in St. George. The Whittakers also hosted Mr. and Mrs. Ron Bailey and children over Mothers Day. The Hong Kong restaurant was also the site of a dinner din-ner shared by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wright of Beaver andMr. and Mrs. Lorraine Gillins, who accompanied their mother, Mrs. Nora Wright. Nora also recieved phone calls from sons, Fred and Denny, and a visit from Mrs. Edna Wright and her three sons in the afternoon. An interestingexcursionto Salt Lake City took place last week when Florence Hiatt drove son, Jeff, daughter, daugh-ter, Lee Ann, andfriend, Pat Sullivan, up to the orientation orienta-tion meeting for Jeff's summer sum-mer job on a Hawaiian plantation. plan-tation. While there, Florence visited her mother, Minnie M cGuire, in Bountiful, sister, LaRee Standing, and her four children of Salt Lake, and daughter, Cherie, who attends at-tends school in Ogden. Floyd and Ann Bird had their three sons home for Mothers Day. Barry and Rick came all the way from Tujunga, California, and son, Todd, drove down from Salt Lake.- A Stake Mother and Daughter Daugh-ter banquet in Moroni was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Max Baxter last week. They were guests of Iona 'smother, Mrs. Sophie Bruno, and her sisters, Mrs. Paul Bailey of Moroni, Mrs. Grace Ostler, Ost-ler, and Marcile Jackson, both of Nephi. The Lees family of Orem furnished the entertainment. Neva Kinross not only had son, Robert, and her daughter daugh-ter and husband, Eugene Walker, down for a visit, but also got all her little odd jobs around the house done by the men. Her son, Larry's, birthday is close to hers so all the Kinrosses had a birthday celebration at once. Milford welcomes one of its own back to town. Jerry Jiminez and his new wife, Cathy, are moving from Cedar City to Milford, into the Dorothy Gale rental. Jerry is working on the railroad rail-road now. Maria Florence's mother, Mrs. Pieter J. Hooft, from Ogden, has spent the week visiting. Maria also joined Molly Taylor ofMinersville, and Kathy Acklin, plus all their children for a picnic in the park in Cedar City, after having pictures taken of their children. Sam Florence recently took Fenton Thompson, Robbie Rob-bie Puffer, Wayne Lowe and Darren Malchus to a place forty miles north of Las Vegas with a load of cedar posts. The boys' Venturer group are cutting posts as part of a fund-raising activity activ-ity for their Lake Powell trip this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson enjoyed a Mothers Day visit from daughter, Mrs. Shanna Erickson, of Salt Lake, andMr. andMrs. Blake Hiatt and Darren of Paro-wan. Paro-wan. Irene Stewart's twenty -three year old grandson, Dennis Stewart, was recently ordained group leader in the seventies quorum in West Jordan. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Stewart of Kearns. Dennis' wife is Judee and they have two sons, Sheldon and Bryan. Also, Irene's son, James, is working work-ing in Zion Canyon Lodge for the summer, and he and Irene exchanged visits recently. A week ago Monday, prior to Alt Sm ithls funeral, a fam -ily dinner was held at the home of Hal and Ina Norton. Present were: Leah Pullem, George Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Nate Smith and Charles and Ramona Smith. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral and family dinner were: Emma Smith, Renee and Berlin Osborn, Renee and Steve Foster, Robert and Julia Christmas, Ida and Bill Smith, Christian Smith, Rollin Beacon, Leah and Robert Rob-ert Holmes, Jean and Grant Marby, Kent Marby, Patsy and Nathan Smith, Clarice and Jeff Cook, Cheryl and Ralph Smith, Georgia and Rick Thompson, Darene and Leon Smith, Marsh andMike Hickman, Alta andSam Hickman, Hick-man, Byron Pullem , Kar 1 and Ruby Grimshaw, Earl and Von Grimshaw, Olivia Dean, Era Starley, Joe and Merle Nelson, Robert D.
