Varsity Tromps Panguitch, Cedar City 56-49 Most of us don't put Panguitch Pan-guitch and Cedar City in the same class, especially when it comes to basketball, but to the Milford Junior Var- sity, that's just where they are. On Friday, the baby Tigers nipped the Panguitch JV 65-I 65-I 49 on the Bobcat floor and I Saturday before a record ' hometown crowd, they beat the Cedar JV with the same score. The game with Panguitch Friday was maybe even 1 tougher as the Bobcat squad j had a 2 -point lead at the quarter, 12-10. Milford led 33-25 at half time, and 47-33 47-33 three-quarters of the way . through. . Against the Cedar squad the Baby Tigers jumped to an early 17-3 lead and were never headed as they led 31-22 31-22 at halfand 49-38 at the end of the 3rd quarter. At Panguitch, the Bobcats' Black took scoring honors with 18 points. For Milford, Randy Kerr had 15 points, Gary Mayer 14, and Mitch Bealer 10, for those in double dou-ble figures. Yardley had 8, Nelson 6, Thompson 5, Horlacher 4, Kirk 2, and Puffer Puf-fer 1. Against Cedar, Mark Nelson Nel-son topped all scorers with 25, Roger Barnes had 13, and Bryan Edwards 12, Bealer 7, Kerf 6, and Kirk 2. v' Friday, it'll be Bryce Valley Val-ley at Milford and Saturday the Tigers raid the T-Birds nest at Piflte. |
