Show PLEDGES RAISE BICENTENNIAL FUND TO $4025 Time is running short, but Chairman Gladys Whlttaker says that individuals and organizations or-ganizations still have time to pledge matching funds to the Bicentennial projects. New pledges this week are $150 from the Youth Committee Com-mittee and $25 each from Mr. and Mrs. John Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baxter. Both of the $25 pledges went to the Milford Historical Society as part of their $1,000 pledge. Pledged just before press -time was one for $25 from BPW. These new pledges Joined those of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Roberts, $100; IOOF and Re -bekahs, $100; Lady Lions, $300; E.S.A. Sorority, $350; Milford City, $2,000; and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smlthson, whose $100 pledge Is also part of the Historical Society's So-ciety's $1,000. This brings the total monies pledged to $4,025, just $2,975 short of the maximum needed to qualify qua-lify for the total $7,000 in Bicentennial matching funds. You will still have time to earn the money before the Bicentennial money mon-ey is received. HERE'S MORE ABOUT PLEDGES RAISE wards the $7,000 goal. Projects planned fall in three categories. Festival-Plans Festival-Plans call for the Milford Centennial pageant of 1973 to be reproduced during the Bicentennial year. Heritage: Beautiflcation of library hill as well as preservation of historical artifacts from Milford's mining, railroad and agricultural past in an historical park. Horizon: Picnic and outdoor recreational recrea-tional facility for the community, com-munity, in the southwest corner of the fairgrounds. Plans for the festival and heritage project are nearly complete. Chairman Whit-taker Whit-taker reports that plans for the Horizon project are now being worked on. Pledges should be made as soon as possible so that the cost of the projects can be worked out. Remember, she said, every dollar donated by Milford people will be matched with Bicentennial funds, so each dollar donated do-nated is really two to spend for the community good.
