Show Bv the Journalism Class .f ' Milford Hign School Mrs. Mary McCulley, Instructor DOUBLE TRYOUTS Tryouts for the traveling assembly as-sembly and for "Swinging High" the school musical, were' started last Friday and continued Monday and Tuesday in the High School Auditorium. Many of those who tried out for the traveling assembly also tried out for "Swinging High.' The traveling assembly is a special assembly where talented talent-ed members of our school travel trav-el to other schools to represent repre-sent our school in an assembly. assem-bly. This year it is under the direction of Vicki Ogden. "Swinging High" is a musical musi-cal comedy about a school that has a change in principals. princi-pals. This is a very entertaining enter-taining play which should turn out to be a great success. It is under the direction of Mr. Dale Johnson. "MOMENTS TO REMEMBER" The graduating senior girls of the Tigerette Club were honored at the last home game of the season by the other members of the pep club. Marching to the record "Stars and Stripes," the girls performed a number of pin-wheel pin-wheel movements along with several precise arm gestures. The girls, in regular uniforms, were strutting high with red and white pompoms. At the end of the march the senior girls were in a "T" formation and were met in the center of the "T" by members of the Lettermen's Club. Red roses were presented to the Senior girls who graduate this year from M H S. The graduating seniors are Carolyn Bailey, president; Jo-niel Jo-niel Aagard, vice president; Elaine Griffiths, secretary; Karen Thompson, drillmaster; Betty McCulley, Elaine Posey, Vickie Stewart, Vicki Ogden, Joy Miller, Marlene Martin. Our thanks go to the fine advisor, Miss Lou Ann Carlson, Carl-son, who helped with the many hours of practice. THANKS!! HIT DANCE OF THE YEAR Last Saturday the Ninth Graue Hera a dance. The indue ot we aance was butters butt-ers Island ana tne music was oy the school combo. A large crowd came to this uance. Almost all the students uf Milford High, many coUege students, and interested parents came. The parents had fun trying to dance the surf. This aance was really a big hit. WELCOME, STUDENT TEACHER We, the students of Milford High, would like to welcome Miss Pat Knaus, the student teacher in the Home Economics Econom-ics Department. She graduated from Granger High School, and attended B Y U for her Freshman and part of her Sophomore year, then attended the Church College Col-lege of Hawaii for a year. She returned to B Y U where she will graduate in August. She will do six weeks of student teaching and training while she is here to fulfill her graduation requirements. "PEP SAID WITH MUSIC" Appreciation and praise should be given to Mr. Dale Johnson and his pep band for their participation at games and pep rallies. The school spirit has improved greatly with the help of the band. We're proud of our school and our team and know that we have the peppiest band of Region Re-gion 10. |
