Show Custard Sauce for Fruits I if "v. ' Fruit has always been popular as a dessert. Now it can be even more appealing with the help of a flavorful custard sauce. Try this sauce and its flavored variations for a bright new dessert des-sert treat. CUSTARD SAUCE FOR FRUIT 2 cups 2 cups milk, scalded 2 eggs H cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla !4 teaspoon salt Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar, then hot milk. Cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly until the custard thicken;; enough to coat a spoon. Remove from the heat and add salt and vanilla. Mix well. Chill before serving over fresh or canned fruit. Almond Custard Sauce: Omit the vanilla from the basic bas-ic recipe and add Vs. teaspoon almond extract. Serve with bananas, peaches, raspberries, fresh or canned pineapple. Lemon Custard Sauce: Omit vanilla from the basic recipe and add 1 teaspoon lemon extract.
