Show 9 bututo-, . But 9 Jteanti TVIAS Dan Valentine, Salt Lake Tribune columnist, is always handing out pretty, lacy-edged valentines to deserving folks here in the Intermountain West, and we think he ought to pass a posey to Max Baxter of Milford and Ncal Grossman of Miners-ville, Miners-ville, State Road employees who for three years have passed up their vacations, to help Milford City get their streets oiled. Of course, Milford City paid the men for their work, but three years with no vacation makes highway maintenance a very dull job. Mayor Kizer and the City Dads at their last meeting voted vot-ed a Thank You to the two men, without whose help, tiie city officials of-ficials said, the Milford street oiling program would have been more of a headache than a Las Vegas "morning after." The councilmen also set the tax levy at 23.5 mills, same as last year, and approved expense money for a Milford City representative repre-sentative to attend the upcoming up-coming Municipal League convention. con-vention. They also approved continuation continu-ation of the Mayor's Citizenship Citizen-ship Award, which is presented present-ed annually to the Milford High School Junior boy and girl who are selected each January by a committee of judges as showing the most outstanding Citizenship traits. Mayor Kizer explained that "if he should run for office again, and if he should be elected elect-ed if he should run," then he would continue the award as his personal project, but if he is not the mayor next year, he would like to see the award continued as a perpetual City of Milford recognition for outstanding out-standing citizenship. For the past two years Mayor Kizer has personally presented the award, consisting of a certificate cer-tificate of merit and an "Outstanding "Out-standing Citizenship" emblem to be worn on the sweater, along with his personal check reimbursing reim-bursing the selected Junior boy and girl for the cost of the class sweater. By action of the City Council, the award will be made each year to a worthy Junior boy and Junior girl. Principal Bradshaw announces announc-es that starting on Aug. 21, persons per-sons who purchased season tickets tick-ets to help with payment for the Milford High football bleachers may "convert" the vouchers they have to season tickets good for seat? of their choice. Milford foptball and basket ball fans are reminded that the selection of seats will be on a 'first-coma first-choice basis, and the center section seats will be going fast. So if you hold a season ticket voucher, better get in line and exchange it for one of the choice season tickets.
