Show ' MEAT INSPECTION LAW POPULAR WITH PUBLIC Mr. Alden K. Barton, Commissioner, Com-missioner, Utah State Department Depart-ment of Agriculture, reports that the meat inspection law adopted by the 1955 Legislature which was held in obeyancc until January Jan-uary 1st, this year to permit slaughterhouse operators to improve im-prove their facilities so as tc comply with the regulations adopted by the Board of Agri-cultue Agri-cultue has been well received by both slaughterhouse operators and the consuming public. The Utah Cattlemen's Associ-' ation adopted a resolution at their annual meeting held De-' cember 7th and 8th, petitioning the Legislature to maintain and strengthen, where necessary, the present Utah Meat Inspection Inspec-tion Law. This act was taken according to Mr. Barton, because the cattlemen cattle-men are of the opinion that when the consuming public is assured that the meat they buy is from healthy animals and is slaughtered slaugh-tered under sanitary conditions there will be an increase in meat consumption. |
