Show jArdiitect Employed for New School Buildings Ne elementary school buildings build-ings for Milford and Minersville move d a step closer with sale of $550,000 worth of Board of Education Edu-cation construction bonds at the regular Board of Education meeting last Wednesday. The bonds were sold to The Continental Bank & Trust Co., i'irst Security Bank, Urie Lincoln. Lin-coln. Co. and Edward Burton, for 97c on the dollar, and will pay out over the one to 13-year maturity ma-turity period, at 4.04. L. Robert Gardner, Cedar City architect, was employed by the board as architect for the two schools planned for immediate construction, one to be built at Milford and the other, a cottage-type cottage-type structure, to be built at Minersville. Mr. Gardner vas architect for the Cedar City Library, Li-brary, and several schools in Iron and Washington counties. The present Milford and Minersville schools have been declared unsatisfactory by survey sur-vey commissions. Dr. David A. Symond of Milford, Mil-ford, recently elected for a five-year five-year term on the Board of Education, Edu-cation, was sworn in at the meeting, meet-ing, and Harold Edwards of Milford was appointed to replace re-place Keith Rollins, who resigned re-signed after moving from the South Milford district. The new Milford school will be built In the western, part of town, on a six-acre property purchased by the Board of Education. |
