Show Dixie Group Leased. The Dixie Mining and Smelting Co. has leased their property to Samuel L. Adams, Jr., of this city for a period of two years. The group comprises the Apex, Morning Star, Evening Star, White Elephant, Highland Mary, Hidden Hid-den Treasure, Limestone, Home Pickett, Pick-ett, Last Chance, Champion, and Sentinel, Sen-tinel, all situated in the Tutsagabet Mining District, about IS miles west of St George. The lessee undertakes to develop the mines and keep men constant' employed employ-ed thereon during the lifetime of the lease. These mines were discovered about 14 years ago, and considerable work ! has been dorie on them. Mr. Adams is certain that they contain inexhaust-able inexhaust-able supplies of high-grade copper. Hundreds of tons of ore running as high as 60 per cent copper has been shipped from these properties during 1892, at which time copper was worth only eight cents per lb. Mr. Adams with a force of men will commence work right away. |
