Show ADRIFT ON ICE FLOES. Sixteen Skaters Carried Out Into Lake Michigan. Chicago. Feb. 14. Sixteen skaters, living in the suburbs of Rogers park and Lake Forest, were carried out into Lake Michigan on ice floes Suaday. Ten of them were rescued, and during the entire evening searching parties made fruitless efforts to secure some trace of the missing six. All of those who were rescued were carried out on the ice off Lake Forest, and two of the number who ventured on tme frozen lake there are supposed to have been drowned. The remaining three of the sixteen were carried away on a floe off Rogers park, and the Chicago Chi-cago life-saving crew spen t the night in searching for them. Most of the rescued res-cued were students at Lake Forest academy. |
