Zinc ore took a sudden jump yesterda', and at this point, at Galena, Kan., and Webb City, Mo., sold at S45 per ton, the highest price ever known, and S3. 50 per ton above best price of the day before. A heavy foreign demand is said to be the underlying cause for the steady advance ad-vance since last fall, when ore was serine for less than S30. The unpreoe-det unpreoe-det ted cold weather has caused several - mines to shut down, reducing the supply sup-ply and thus increasing the demand.
