The town of Badenwhose Ba-denwhose main claim to fame for the past 15 years has been that it has no jail has dedicated a new $45,000 municipal building without a jail cell. George Ehrhart, assistant chief of police of this community of about 2,000 population, explained. "Crime in Baden is so negligible, we don't need a jail. We can install a cell block in the shower room in the basement if the need arises. If we had a jail, it would just be turned into a haven for transients." |
