Show January 1 Proves 'Girl's Day' At Local Hospital As Three Greet New Year Wednesday, January 1, 1941 was "Girl's Day" at the McGregor hospital, three New Year specials arriving between the hours of 3:30 and 7:10 p. m. But none of the three belong to St. George. Two go to Santa Clara, and one to Washington. Announced at 3:30 p.m., was the 7 -pound daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graff of Santa Clara. Mrs. Graff is the former Mary Alice Glenn, who before her marriage was a nurse at the hospital. This is their first child. The second arrival was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Reber of Santa Clara at 6:10 p. m. Mrs. Reber was Miss Lila Hafen before her marriage. To Mr. and Mrs. Golden Pax-man Pax-man of Washington came the third young lady, of 1941. Mrs. Paxman was the former Rokah Tanner. Quiet days accorded the hospital over the Christmas week took a definite business turn Wednesday when these three young ladies began their competitive race for first place on the hospital's 1941 birth announcements. Born, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Ger-ald Stout of Hurricane, December Decem-ber 31. Born, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Emerald Stout on December 24. |
