Show Navy Urgently Needs Men In Seabees Division The Navy urgently needs powder monkeys, powder nippers, blasters or dynamiters to serve with the Construction Battalions of the Navy, called the Seabees. These men are absolutely essential for successful Seabee operation. A powderman's job is an important one, without his skill and knowledge knowl-edge the building of our advanced bases would be impossible. These Construction Battalions scattered from Dutch Harbor to Casablanca are building barracks, hospitals, wharves, roads, water and oil tanks, electric plants, radio stations and docks. Our offensive drives into the enemy territory are launched from the advanced bases built by these men. They know how to build and how to fight to protect what they have built if necessary. The Seabees were with the Mar-(Continued Mar-(Continued on page eight) WAAC Enlisting Unit Yisits St. George, May 27 Declaring that there is a vital job for every woman in the Women's Armv Auxiliary Corps, members of the WAAC stopped in St. George last Thursday in their large mobile recruiting unit Pointing out that women are trained for hundreds of different non-combat jobs in the Army, Lieut. Marjorie Lyon, commanding officer of the mobile unit, asked that more women join the WAAC now. There are 90,000 requests for women to serve with the Army in the WAAC at the present time. To meet that huge request, we need a large group of women from the Dixie area at once. The silver mobile unit, which is traveling on an extended tour through Utah and Nevada, is equipped with an interviewing lounge, typewriters, public address system, radio and motion picture equipment. During its brief stop in St. George, many women were interviewed inter-viewed and literature passed out by Lieut. Lyon and her assistants, Auxiliaries Charlotte Temple and Alice Howery and Sgt. William Mason. Women interested in the WAAC are urged to contact WAAC recruiters re-cruiters at either Cedar City or Salt Lake City Army recruiting stations.
