Show LEEDS Mrs. lizzie McQuaid Reporter Grant McMullin, Mrs. Jack Long and Mrs. Dallice Hartman attended attend-ed the Alumni program held in St. George last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry George and daughter, Geraldine, returned to Barstow, Calif., Wednesday after spending several days in Leeds. Mrs. Evan Sullivan and Mrs. Leland Sullivan motored to Cedar City last Thursday with their father, W. D. Sullivan, the latter to receive medical attention. He has been seriously ill recently. The Leeds Relief Society held their closing social Tuesday evening, eve-ning, June 1st. A special program was prepared for the occasion. Mrs. Ruby McMullin spent Sunday Sun-day in Leeds visiting relatives. Those from Leeds who attended the Tuesday funeral services in Parowan, for Mrs. Nan Parker were: Mrs. R. C. McMullin and son Frank and daughter, Mrs. Joseph Stirling and son, Harold, Mrs. V. K. Mariger, Lawrence McMullin, Edward McMullin, Mrs. Minnie I. Harris, and Mrs. Jerry George of Barstow, Calif. Edward McMullin was one of the speakers at the services. Mrs. Roy Hartley received word Friday that her sister in Los Angeles had died very suddenly of heart attack. lone Olsen received her instructions instruc-tions as a WAVE last Tuesday and left that evening to join a group who are going to the Atlantic At-lantic coast camps for training. ' Alice Savage visited relatives in Salt Lake City last week. Mrs. Jack Long is spending the week at Boulder City. Leeds cherry growers are busy harvesting their 1943 crop. All available boys and girls of the towns are helping with the picking. pick-ing. It is reported that cherries are bringing a good price on the market. |
